Top 10 Questions about VanHomes

Top 10 Questions about VanHomes

Welcome to our blog! We've compiled a list of the Top 10 most commonly asked questions to help you get the answers you need quickly and easily.

1. What is the difference between a VanHome and imported options?

At VanHomes, transparency is key. Amidst an influx of imitations, we highlight the differences between our products and imported alternatives. Imported folding container homes often boast a lower price point but compromise on quality due to inexpensive materials. They involve building approval, incur expensive trucking fees, and lack ease of relocation. Moreover, they're mass-produced overseas, potentially creating risks to safety and warranty coverage.

On the other hand, VanHomes, proudly Australian-made and family-owned since 2008, prioritising both quality and budget constraints. They bypass council building approval in NSW. Crafted from premium materials to Australian standards, VanHomes hold a high resale value and a comprehensive warranty program. With a satisfied customer base and dedicated after-sales service, VanHomes prioritise customer satisfaction. Particularly, VanHomes have even set legal precedents in support of their customers' rights.
When choosing accommodation, thorough research is essential. Our team is ready to guide you through the process, ensuring informed decisions and lasting satisfaction.

3. Why would I consider a relocatable home over a permanent building?

Why choose a relocatable home, like a VanHome, over a permanent building? Here are a few reasons:
   1. Avoidance of Delays: With a VanHome, you avoid delays and hassles often tied to             securing building permits.
   2. Swift Solution: VanHomes offer efficient housing solutions. Whether you need a granny     flat, retirement solution, or home-office space, a VanHome can meet your housing needs.
   3. Flood-Prone: Flood zone? Easily Relocatable? Traditional buildings can’t be built in flood-   prone areas. VanHomes, on the other hand, can be easily relocated.
   4. Affordability: VanHomes are affordable, delivered and installed quickly on-site. With 2,     3 & 4 bedroom models available there is something to suit every living situation.
   5. Quality: VanHomes provide high-quality homes that meet stringent construction                   standards.

Choosing a VanHome means selecting a flexible, affordable, and convenient home solution tailor-made for today’s changing requirements

4. What options do I have for toilet systems?

VanHomes typically come with a standard dual flushing toilet installed. For our premium package, we install a full ceramic back-to-wall toilet.
We understand sometimes getting septic is tricky, so we offer two other options at an additional cost:
   1. Cinderella Incinerating Toilet - this is a water-free toilet where bio waste products are burned at high temperatures to a minimum amount of ash. These toilets are a total waste solution.
   2. Eco Let Composting Toilet - this is also a waterless toilet, composting bio waste into compost offering an odour-free and environmentally friendly solution for living off grid or in eco-conscious households.

5. How do I know if my site is suitable for a VanHome?

VanHomes offers affordable accommodation solutions, emphasizing easy installation compared to other mobile accommodation options.

Key considerations include site level/gradients, requiring falls of less than 300mm front to back and 200mm side to side for standard installation. Firm ground is essential for stability. A concrete slab is not essential, you are able to have grass, gravel or many other options providing it has been compacted well. Adequate access space is needed for towing and installation, with clearances around the perimeter and for expanding models. VanHomes may not fit under standard carports/garages but can be craned into place if inaccessible.

Overall, while designed for versatility, site suitability depends on factors like gradient, ground firmness, and access space. Contact VanHomes for further information regarding site suitability inquiries.

6. What materials are used to build a VanHome?

The VanHome is constructed using a variety of high-quality Australian made materials and parts. Below, you will find the list of essential components used in its construction:
Chassis and Wall Frames: VanHomes use robust ALLGAL galvanised steel and aluminium, ensuring strength and durability for the owner’s peace of mind.
Flooring: The flooring of each VanHome is made of thermoplastic composite sandwich panel and is covered with either carpet or vinyl. This provides a comfortable and stylish foundation for your home.
Roofing: 50 mm Insulated roofing panels regulate temperature effectively.

8. How is power connected?

For standard VanHomes, here is how you get your power connected:
   1. Locate the power inlet plug on your VanHome.
   2. Connect a 15 amp power extension lead to this power inlet plug.*

Follow these steps to power up your VanHome quickly. Your VanHome is designed for simplicity.
Remember, safety comes first when dealing with electricity. While the system is easy to set up, following instructions is vital. Seek professional advice if needed.
*If electric appliances are selected, the circuit will need to be upgraded to a 32amp single phase

9. What is the resale value?

If you ever sell your VanHome, you’ll be glad to know it holds its value well.
Here’s why:
Individually Built: Every VanHome is individually crafted, providing buyers with a unique and high-quality appeal.

Rising Material Prices: Increasing building material costs boost the value of existing VanHomes.

However, like all real estate, prices can fluctuate due to various factors. Keep your VanHome in good condition for the best resale value.

Discover the steps to achieve a swift and effortless installation in three simple stages.
