Specific Features and Adaptations

Our Specialist Disability Accommodation was carefully designed to provide easy access for wheelchairs, walkers, and other aids. We have considered every detail to provide a truly accommodating and welcoming home environment.

Customised Doors

Entry Door: Measuring 2240W X 2050T, the sliding door provides a generous width for easy access.
Bedroom Door: A 975mm wide hinged door ensures smooth and easy access to the bedroom.
Bathroom Access Door: 1010mm clearance with a sliding door, making it convenient to navigate through.
Bedroom Glass Door: A 920mm wide hinged door provides an additional access point to the living space.
Internal Doors and Robes: The location of the internal hinge door, glass door, and robe has been adjusted to comply with Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) standards.

Thoughtful Living Spaces

Bedroom Size: A generous 4120 x 3125mm space, providing ample room for movement.
Bathroom Size: 2045 x 3230mm, with plans in place to extend by 200mm to meet specific sanitary facility standards.
Bathroom Window: Repositioned to the rear of the van, the window placement ensures privacy while allowing natural light to flood the space.

Lowered Fixtures for Ease of Use

Lowered Kitchen Benchtops: The benchtops are set at 803mm from floor level, providing a comfortable working height for wheelchair users.
Lowered Vanity: The bathroom vanity has been lowered to 815mm to align with AS 1428.1-2009 Design Standard.

Future-Proofing and Compliance

Our Specialist Disability Accommodation is built to comply with Australian standards (AS 1428.1-2009) for Access and Mobility, ensuring comfort, safety, and ease of use. While we are working towards obtaining NDIS approval, our Specialist Disability Accommodation is designed to meet these standards and can be fitted with ramps and handrails to enhance accessibility.

Future upgrades include an NDIS-approved flat low-sill sliding door at the entry and replacing door handles to fully comply with SDA standards.
